Ever wonder where all our plastic bags go? GreenChoice Bank, in partnership with The Plastic Bag Solution, will host a free screening and discussion of the film “Bag It” at Green Exchange’s Greenhouse Loft Monday, May 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. "Bag It" examines the impact and alternatives of the extensive use of plastic bags in our country.
Network with your neighbors, colleagues and Alderman Joe Moreno from 7 to 7:30 p.m., enjoy the screening and stay for the Q&A. The alderman and his colleagues have spearheaded an effort to ban oil-based bags in our city and we’re proud to support their efforts to create a more responsible, sustainable future. Rootsy Vegan will serve up the popcorn and Kangen Oasis will refresh us with their ionized water.
Get your free tickets now at www.bagitgreenexchange.eventbrite.com and invite your friends!
Before the screening, you may want to read this recent Daily Herald article, which reports that only about 2.5 percent of disposable plastic bags and plastic films are recycled. This issue is a current concern and hotbed for debate in local municipalities and in Springfield. We hope you can join us for this enlightening event!
